The Arkwright family, who own Hatton Country World, purchased the Hatton Estate in 1830. After nearly 30 years of estate transformation, they’ve opened new walking routes across their private land, public footpaths, and towpaths, connecting Hatton Country World and Hatton Locks to The Hatton Arms Pub & Restaurant, expanding visitor exploration options across the Hatton Estate.

These routes range from 1.5 to 5.5 miles, offering scenic views of fields, churches, and wildlife around Warwick. There are also dedicated picnic spots within the shopping village, so you can fuel up pre or post walk.

The famous 21 Hatton Locks, nicknamed ‘The Stairway to Heaven’, form the longest lock flight on the Grand Union Canal between London and Birmingham, opened in 1805. On-site displays detail the locks’ history and mechanics, while The Hatton Arms offers spectacular views down the locks and across to the distant Cotswolds, some 20 miles away.
